Guilty Pleasures #1

Like most people, I find repose in words, with poetry and tongue-in-cheek pose being my venting means of choice.
Over the past few months I have found a muse that I am rather unworthy of, but who has helped churn up things within me that I never knew existed. As a result I’ve been in a prolific writing phase.
In the posts to come I’ll be dealing with a few separate and very different themes.
This one is a part of a series I'd like to call
‘Guilty Pleasures’. ©

Unlikely Love Poem #5

About two years ago I stood dumbstruck in front of one of the installations at the Kochi Muziris Biennale. It was the work of Aram Saroyan, the mutated 'M', if I may call it so. So drawing inspiration from this I decided to take a stab at minimalist visual poetry.

Unlikely Love Poem(s) #4

So the last time my soul-sister Petula was in town we spent a few nights together just laughing and bitching and doing all kinds of girly stuff and one of those nights, as she was browsing through Pinterest searching for ideas for our cousin's wedding, she hit gold with this so called 'love quote' by, William Shakespeare (though I have my doubts about it):

Needless to say, she LOVED it and gushed about it for half an hour, but I just couldn't imagine how someone who wrote odes and sonnets of unspeakably beautiful love would pen down something like THIS. I'm sorry. I just cant digest it. Like most women-kind, I am a sucker for romance, but I am not a romantic, I am a realist, and I'm not very 'sold' with the concept of love at first sight.

Anyway, I swore I'd have my vengance on this which has resulted in this series within a series (full meta) where I shall attempt to take a more realistic approach to the above poem, if I may call it so.
